Join us on Tuesday 23 June, 4:00–4:45pm for another fantastic "From the Field" presentation.

"From the Field" is a short, low cost and to the point presentation from a colleague about a successful initiative that is occuring in their school.

Mark McConville is Principal of Toronto High School, a large comprehensive high school, including 10 Inclusive Education classes. He is also Deputy President of the NSW SPC.

Accurate projected student numbers are critical to effective school planning — yet principals are often required to make significant staffing and curriculum decisions before certainty exists.

From determining the number of Year 7 classes to deciding whether senior courses can run, the process begins early and the consequences of those decisions impact the entire school.

This “From the Field” presentation explores how secondary principals navigate the complex realities of staffing allocation, curriculum delivery and organisational sustainability in large comprehensive schools.

Designed for current and aspiring secondary school leaders, this presentation acknowledges the complexity of modern school staffing while providing practical approaches grounded in real leadership experience.

Join us to enhance your understanding, share insights, and strengthen your leadership capacity in managing critical incidents and wellbeing challenges within your school community.

Can’t make it live? Don’t worry - the 45 minute presentation is recorded and everyone who registers receives a link to the recording.
